Windows 10 bit supports up to 2 sockets or physical CPUswith up two cores supported. For now I’m running Windows in Google Compute Engine to suit my needs, but that’s expensive and the latency in my application is a bit annoying.

I consider that is the reason. VNC will start… show the Windows logo… then disconnect with the above being shown in the shell. OK I tried this I believe. So basically Windows 10 support is broken if disk performance is poor.

I tuned the value both in the GUI and the shell, but both have no effect. The performance of the AHCI drivers is horrible with windows. I assume no one has managed to get the virtio drivers functioning in a Windows VM? Each has frednas advantages, the image file is simplest ffreenas will work regardless of underlying filesystem.
